Emma Carmody joined the Digital Solutions Program with her small business Palmer’s Gym and Tumble Tots. Palmer’s Gym has three venues across Bendigo, Echuca Moama and Cohuna, and has been offering gymnastics since 1978. Emma took over this family business in 2017.
Palmer’s Gym prides itself on enriching the lives of its community. “My favourite part of the Gym is witnessing a child do something for the first time, with their parent or carer there to experience the joy with them!”
Emma joined the Digital Solutions Program because she wanted to understand Facebook and Instagram and how to better get her business out there. “I was exhausted from putting time and effort into posts and not receiving any engagement. I wanted to put a plan in place instead of posting haphazardly.”
Briana Cowan, the program mentor who assisted Emma, is an ex-gymnast of Palmer’s Gym. “I contacted Briana for some assistance with our dwindling social media and she suggested the Digital Solutions program.”
Briana outlined the importance of researching other gyms on social media, making a daily post plan, determining the business’s objective, humanising the brand, and developing content directly targeted at Emma’s primary audience.
“All of the above is INCREDIBLY valuable,” Emma says. “I have implemented all of it. I especially found valuable the advice on hashtags, knowing my audience, and when they were on Facebook and Instagram. Also that quick videos always sell.”
“I would absolutely recommend the program—and I already have!”
